I want to thank the Lord for the power of a praying body of believers.

I had an allergic reaction to something, the cause of which is still unknown, and developed a severe case of hives over my entire body. I began to treat the hives with Benadryl, however, by the next morning they were much worse and I had to go to the emergency room. I was prescribed medicine to get them under control and sent on my way.

Well, three days later it seemed that the medicine was only masking the symptoms and the hives were not going away. My immediate family had been bringing my situation before the Lord in prayer, but I was still not improving. I talked to someone who was going to one of our small groups and asked her to have the group pray for me that evening. I noticed a bit of improvement the next day, but still was not where I wanted to be. So, I decided it was time to call in the prayer troops. I used the email prayer chain the next day and recruited the prayers of more saints. By the following day I noticed even more improvement. I am well on the road to recovery, and I thank God for the prayers of my brothers and sisters and their willingness to bear each others burdens. God is so good. He is indeed the great Healer.

The Lord also used this situation to teach me to not be so hesitant in asking others to pray for me. Next time, I'll go for prayer much sooner.
