Testimony

Lisa Carpen

I was 17 going on 18 when I was diagnosed with Cholestiatoma. It was something I had never heard of and with the diagnosis, came the prognosis. I had approx. 6 months to live or have surgery to remove the affected area behind my right ear and could cause deafness. This was a bad prognosis all the way around. The CAT scan showed that there was some bone loss.

I had a full four year scholarship with Towson University to study Opera. There were only 7 cases known at that time in 1983. My father was a Pentecostal Pastor and my mother both believed in the healing power of Jesus. We prayed and believed, but it wasn't until Church camp that my counselor told me to pray for myself and I did. I held my right ear area and prayed. The Lord gave me a warm feeling all over and told me I would be healed but in time to increase my faith.

I returned to the ENT specialist who was a skeptic by nature with a terrible bedside manner and promptly told him he would see something different in my ear this time. He was skeptical. But did see the disease regressing, which it never does. He tried to tell me I didn't have the disease and I told him to look at the CAT scan. It proves it. Within a year I was discharged and the disease had stopped.

The bone loss is there to prove that there was once a disease that God healed and saved my life and I now sing as a testimony to His Glory anytime I get a chance. PTL.
