Testimony

Mary Anita Pomeroy
I am a retired Registered Nurse. I injured my left arm in January of 1994 while at work. I fell on ice when going to see a patient. After one year of consultations and treatments I was diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff, which was extremely painful. Surgery was scheduled for January of 1995. I had no problems until 1999, when as a grandmother of two one-year old babies, I was lifting the babies and I once again noticed severe pain in my left shoulder and arm, and I developed pain in my lower back. At age 67, I should probably have been more careful.

One Sunday at church the pain was so severe in my shoulder and arm that I couldn’t raise my arms to praise the Lord. I had a sharp, shooting pain in my back as well, and I was unable to stand during worship. I went to the altar to be prayed with for a healing. Pastor Joe Davis came and prayed over me for a healing of my arm pain as I felt I had re-torn my rotator cuff. The pain was the same, and the back pain was limiting my mobility. Pastor Davis anointed me with oil and prayed.

When I went back to my seat, I started praising the Lord, and I was able to raise my arms and praise the Lord without any pain in my left shoulder for the rest of the service. I also realized I was able to stand, the back pain was not as bad. After the service I shared what the Lord had done for me with Pastor Davis.

The following week I shared my healing of the shoulder with the congregation. The back pain was still present, not as severe, but it was still limiting my mobility. Pastor Davis and the congregation prayed for me. While they prayed, I felt a warm glow throughout my body and I knew the Lord was healing my back, not as rapidly as my left shoulder. Within one week, I was totally off pain medication. Within two weeks, I had my mobility back to normal.

For the past three years I have had no recurrence of my left shoulder pain or the pain in my back. I only have occasional discomfort in my back, associated more with my age, which will be 70 this year.

I thank the Lord for my healing as it enables me to do all the things he asks me to do, and I am still able to help my family with babysitting, I have 12 grandchildren, and chores. He is ever faithful to us and answers our prayers.
