I was raised in the body of Christ. I attended Sunday worship, Christian schools from first grade through college, and loved to pray. Still, I did not have a close relationship with Jesus. I was following the ritual of being a Christian but I had not fallen in love with Jesus, acknowledged Him for who he is, nor thanked Him and surrendered to Him. When I was seventeen, my rebellion against God manifested in my leaving the body of Christ and becoming involved in worshipping Satan. This took the form of Hinduism, Buddhism, tarot cards, astrology, and many other practices. My rebellion also manifested in drug-taking and sexual promiscuity, until I was married. I continued to worship the enemy until my family and I walked into New Exodus Fellowship, where we still worship Jesus. When I walked in the door of the church, I heard a voice within me say, “home.” I knew I was where I belonged. I asked God why he rescued me from death, being arrested, having children out of marriage, and from self-destruction. He replied, “I knew your heart.” What a loving, compassionate, merciful, forgiving God I love and serve. Where once my family and I were headed for hell, we are all walking with Jesus, and a new legacy has been established. To God be the glory!
