On April 5, 2002, my wife, Alison, went to a church meeting in Frederick, Maryland, about 45 miles west of our place in Ellicott City, Maryland. The speaker, from South Africa, asked that the congregants give a word from the Lord to the person next to them, unless the person knew them. Alison knew the persons on her right and on her left. My wife was paired with a Godly woman across the hall. Alison had a word for the woman. The word was that "You love God". And indeed the woman did love God. The other woman had a word from the Lord for Alison. The word was "job"; the woman explained that the Lord would give Alison's husband [that's me] a new job and that it would provide abundantly.
Unbeknownst to me, at work that day, I applied for a well paying job in California since the Lord that day was leading me to look for a new job. The word given to Alison was a confirmation. When in Israel, the Lord showed me in a dream to take Graduate courses. So when we returned to the U.S., I re-enrolled at Catholic University of America. As the Scripture says, Psalms 105:16 Moreover He called for a famine in the land;
He destroyed all the provision of bread.
17 He sent a man before them--
Joseph--who was sold as a slave.
He was laid in irons.
19 Until the time that his word came to pass,
The word of the LORD tested him.The word of the LORD came to test me; about two weeks later I was informed that I would be laid off April 30, 2002, due to a budget shortfall at work. This news led me to place my resume on a jobs bulletin board. A recruiter called our telephone number to fill a job in Frederick Maryland, the same place my wife had received the word. Following the verbal notice of layoff, I thanked the Lord in our church (see newexodus.org) for being laid off the same as I thanked Him for giving me the job in the 1st place.
Joe Davis's sermon was on tithing (1st time in 16 years), so I wrote 2 checks that day and my wife one check. The second check was for $3.00, Alison's tithe, and the third check was for $375.00 for our membership at Beth Shalom synagogue (www.beth-shalom.net). Our tithes were complete.
Two days later, my last day on the job, the firm interviewed me. That same day I received an offer with a large increase in pay, justified in part by my Graduate classes. I received a new job in Frederick, Maryland with a large increase in pay, which is in the same city as where my wife received the word. Only God could have arranged that. I could not take any credit for it if I wanted to take credit for it. He said exactly what he would do and He did it.
Praise Yeshua (Jesus)!!!!
In His love and steadfastness,
Albert Frydland
