God does not cause things to go wrong in our lives. He may allow them(Job). However, He does provide a way through these trials.

I had been attending a church for five years. I loved it. It was everything I could ask for in a church. The members all loved the Lord. Everyone was a willing servant. Our worship was great. The pastor was awesome. He had a grasp on the Scriptures that was unbelievable.

Our pastor decided to leave for another position. We called in an interim pastor, but nothing could be done to save our fellowship. The church closed its doors. I had to find another church.

Not long after finding a new church to attend, my wife of two years decided to leave me. It was probably the lowest point in my thirty-two years of life. I needed to seek counseling.

There was a reason that the Lord put me into this new church. Garland was the counseling pastor. He was the reason.

The counseling sessions were nothing like I had expected. They were not a "he said, she said" kond of thing. It was not a "what did you do, what did she do" kind of thing either. Garland reminded me of who I was in Christ. He reminded me of what happened when I was born again and what that meant.

I am a new creation (2Cor.5:17). I am a son of God (Rom. 8:14-17). I am a brother of Jesus (Heb. 2:10-11). There is so much more! Needless to say that today (ten years later) my joy has been restored ten fold!

I have since remarried. God has blessed me with a beautiful Christian wife. I have a lovely Christian daughter. We attend New Exodus Fellowship. Thank you, Lord!

Garland has gone home to be with the Lord. I think about him often. I can't wait to see him in Heaven.
